About This Tool
There is not a single shoe measurement system used around the World. While this wasn't a major issue in the past, now that online shopping has taken off, we frequently buy shoes from different parts of the world and need to know how to convert our shoe sizes to the various systems. Here are the major ones used, and available with this tool.
US Shoe Size System: The US shoe size system is commonly used in the United States and Canada, with separate size charts for men, women, and children. Men's sizes typically start at 6, while women's sizes start at 4, with each size differing by about 1/3 inch in length.
UK Shoe Size System: The UK shoe size system is used primarily in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It shares similarities with the US system but starts at a different base size, with UK men's sizes generally being one size smaller than their US counterparts.
EU Shoe Size System: The EU (European) shoe size system is widely used across continental Europe and is based on the Paris point, where one size equals two-thirds of a centimeter. It is a unisex system, with sizes typically ranging from 35 to 46 for adults.
CM Shoe Size System (Japan): The CM (centimeter) system, used in Japan, measures the actual length of the foot in centimeters. It is a straightforward system where the shoe size directly corresponds to the length of the foot, making it easy to understand and apply.
Mondopoint System: The Mondopoint system is an international standard that measures both the length and width of the foot in millimeters. It is often used in military and specialized footwear, providing a precise fit by considering both dimensions of the foot.
